Star Trek’s legendary Nichelle Nichols has been cast in a very special role on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!
According to Mashable, Nichols will be playing Lucinda, a character with an emotional connection to a major character in Genoa City.
“I’m thrilled an honored to be a member of the cast of this historic moment in daytime television,” Nichols said in a statement. “I’ve been a huge fan of Y&R for decades.”
Nichols is slated to appear in two episodes, the first of which will be the 11,000th episode of the long-running soap, currently scheduled to air on Thursday, September 1.

Nichols is best known for her role as Star Trek’s Lt. Uhura, a role she played for three seasons on TV and in six movies.
