Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) is in Washington D.C. appearing in a new play!

The outspoken actress appeared on GOOD DAY DC to promote her new play, You Can’t Hurry Love along with the show’s writer and director, Patricia Cuffie-Jones. The show tells the story of a woman who wants her happily ever after, but will she be willing to wait for Mr. Right or will she ruin everything by settling for Mr. Right Now?

“I play the matriarch,” Rowell says of her character, Joyce. “I love my family and I want to control all things. But I also have the desire to be loved. So it’s about relationships. It’s about conflict and resolution… and family.”

She adds that her character is also searching for happiness of her own. “We also talk about older love,” Rowell reports. “Which we don’t explore a lot, and it’s really important.”

There will be a special live performance of You Can’t Hurry Love at Black Entertainment Television in Washington DC, this Saturday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. Tickets are free, so you can click here for more information and to reserve your seats. And if you don’t live in the area, this performance is being recorded for a DVD, so we’ll let you when you can see that!
