You might think that Jacob Young (Rick, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) would have been at the hospital with his wife, Christen, and their new daughter, Grace, when he learned he’d been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor at this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards — but you’d be wrong!

The actor tells Soaps In Depth that he was actually at a car dealership having his SUV serviced so they can trade it in for one that will comfortably seat all three of their children! “So I’ve been stuck in the service department,” he chuckles.

But that didn't lessen the joy when the show contacted him to let him know the good news. “It’s always such a nice call to get,” Young confides. “And I’m thrilled. I really am. It’s such a blessing to be nominated. I say that all the time, but it really is, to be recognized for the work that you’ve done.”

Unfortunately, Christen will not be able to attend the ceremony with him, but Young already knows who is date will be! “I’m going to bring Luke with me,” he reports. “We’re going to have a daddy/son day!”
