Actor Chaz Bono appears on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL today as a pal of
Wyatt’s who, conveniently, happens to be a minister who can officiate weddings!
Steffy and Wyatt’s nuptials prompted Bono’s involvement in the storyline, but the transgender
son of legendary entertainers Cher and Sonny Bono tells Soaps In Depth that he wouldn’t
be opposed to seeing “Reverend Rydell” return for subsequent blessed events on the
show. “It was a really great experience, I learned a ton, and I really loved the people that
I worked with,” he says, “so, absolutely, I’d love to return for, I don’t know … a
christening? A funeral? Another wedding? So much happens on that show, so you never
know! But I hope so!”
In the meantime, Bono has been busy on other projects, including prepping for an L.A.
theater production of the Sam Shephard play The God Of Hell, which he’s producing
and acting in. He also has a role in director Adi Shankar’s dark, superhero-themed project
Gods And Secrets, in which he plays the nefarious right-hand man to an equally nefarious
villain. “I usually gravitate toward those kinds of darker characters, so to play a minister
on B&B was really pretty funny,” says Bono, who appears on the soap on Thursday, March
31 and Friday, April 1. “It’s not typically what I do!”
