Polo Crosses THE BRIDGE
When FX’s crime thriller, THE BRIDGE, returns tonight, Wednesday, July 9, at 9:00 p.m. EST, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Daniel Polo will be a part of it. The Emmy nominee who broke hearts as Jamie, the troubled teen that Fenmore bullied, will be kicking the season off when he debuts in a similar role.
“I play Kyle, a nervous kid who gets in a little over his head with someone I meet at a car wash,” Polo reveals of his character. “My scenes were with Franka Potente (AMERICAN HORROR STORY: ASYLUM). She has a really unique character [Eleanor Schrock, a ruthless, shunned Mennonite who is working for the cartel] this season for the show. It was great to work with her.”
Being able to add this year’s Peabody Award-winning drama to his resume was a thrill for Polo, but that’s not all he took away from the experience. “I learned how to ride a bike for the project,” he reveals. “Of course, I practiced at home on a regular bike before filming, and then on set they gave me a bike for a 10-year-old. The sizing was definitely off, but I made it work!”
And you’ll want to hold on to your seats this series that focuses on the joint battle against a Mexican drug cartel by an El Paso police detective and her counterpart from across the border is about to get intense. “I spent four hours in the make-up chair to film my final scene, which I believe is in the third episode,” Polo teases. “It was a fun project to work on.”
