Oscar Winner Holm Dies

Actress Celeste Holm -- who won an Academy Award in 1948 for her work in Gentlemen's Agreement and nominations for All About Eve and Come To The Stable -- passed away on July 15 at the age of 95. The actress was well known for her turn as Annie in the original Broadway production of Oklahoma!, but Holm also had ties to the soap world. She played AS THE WORLD TURNS' Lauren Roberts in the early 80s, and Anna on FALCON CREST, and later played LOVING's Isabella Alden from 1991-'92. During her LOVING days, Holm was married to co-star Wesley Addy (Cabot), until his death in 1996.

While Holm's heath had been failing in recent years, her family told NY1 that the lifelong New Yorker had been hospitalized for dehydration two weeks ago, following a fire in the apartment of actor Robert De Niro in the same Upper West Side building. Holm is survived by her husband, Frank Basile, and her sons. Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.
