Later this fall, there will be a new Web site completely dedicated to daytime fans! Veteran soap scribe Meg Kelly (who has written for AS THE WORLD TURNS and DAYS OF OUR LIVES) and entertainment marketing pro Joseph Craig have partnered with Conklin-Intracom to create SudsvilleTV.com.
Kelly tells Soaps In Depth that both she and Craig believe "that you can deliver a strong production for not a ton of money. If it's well-written, well-acted and smartly produced, you can deliver high-end entertainment."
To that end, SudsvilleTV plans to offer more than a dozen shows when the channel launches in late October. "I've created 16 shows for our new network, all 10 episodes each and a lot of fun," shares Craig, who has experience as both a movie and Broadway producer. "We have two game shows, a talk show called A.M. SUDSVILLE that will be three times a week, and then a mix of reality and improv shows. They are all themed around things that our soap audience really loves."
Craig adds that they are in the midst of casting all of the shows now, including a 40-episode series that Kelly is penning. Starting today, fans can sign up at www.sudsvilletv.com to get alerts about the upcoming programs -- including exclusive casting news and previews! "We're very excited about it," says Kelly, promising that there will be some familiar faces from the world of daytime attached to the SudsvilleTV shows, like GUIDING LIGHT fan favorite Michael O'Leary (Rick), who will be hosting THE AMAZING SOAP TRIVIA CHALLENGE game show! "We want to take soap operas to the next place."
Once fans have signed up, they will get alerts to all new Sudsville developments, as they happen: casting, special previews, interviews from the sets, behind the scenes footage. And fans will also be able to enter contests to win great prizes! You can also follow SudsvilleTV on Facebook and Twitter.
