Nathaniel Marston (Eddie, AS THE WORLD TURNS; Al, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) has passed away at the age of 40 from injuries suffered during an automobile accident. His mother, Elizabeth Jackson, broke the news on Facebook.
"Dear family and friends," she wrote, "it is with a heavy heart that I share this devastating news. My beloved and cherished son, Nathaniel Marston, who was putting up the good fight until last night, was not able to continue due to the traumatic and devastating nature of his injuries. Nathaniel passed away peacefully as I held him in my arms."
If Marston had survived the surgeries, his quality of life would have drastically changed. "He would have required a ventilator and would never have been able to utter one more word and would have been sentenced to life as a quadriplegic," Jackson wrote. "A condition that Nate would never have been able to tolerate. By God's love and mercy, Nathaniel was spared this living hell and has traveled on to be with God, his cherished grandmother Mary Jackson, grandfather John Jackson and my sister, his Aunt Nora."
Memorial services are planned for New York City, Kauai, Hawaii, and Gerlach, Nevada. Our thoughts are with his loved ones as this difficult time.
