EXCLUSIVE: Y&R’s Morgan Is Expecting!
Mishael Morgan (Hilary) tells Soaps In Depth exclusively that she and her husband are expecting their first child in August! “We were actually thinking about planning a family this year… and it happened a little earlier than we anticipated,” she smiles. “But I’m the kind of person who wants things to happen when they’re supposed to happen, and am open to it. So it was a happy blessing!”
At the moment, the actress doesn’t know the sex of the baby. However, that will change in May when she flies home to Toronto for her baby shower, which she has combined with a baby reveal ceremony. “The only person that knows right now is my baker, who is baking me a cake,” she shares with a laugh. “Inside it’s going to tell me whether it’s a girl or a boy, so when we cut the cake at the baby shower, we’ll all find out together! I thought it would be a nice way to celebrate that moment when we are all together, because not everybody is going to be there when the baby is going to be born.”
Morgan confesses that she and her husband would be thrilled if the inside of the cake turned out to be pink! “I do have a preference because I want my girl to be older than my son so for that to happen, it has to be a girl!” she laughs. “When I was growing up, all the boys that I liked and was attracted to and who always treated women amazingly were the ones who had older sisters! So I wish my girl would be first, but it doesn’t really matter. If I have a boy and he becomes an older brother to protect her, that’s good, too! I’m just very excited!”
The actress’ pregnancy will not be written into her storyline on Y&R, so look for Hilary’s collection of oversized purses to expand in the near future!
