What You Missed On Yesterday's B&B!

Wyatt Bill.jpg

Due to issues between CBS and Time Warner, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL are not currently being aired in several markets. To help those impacted, we'll be offering daily recaps.

Thursday, August 29

When Bill arrived at the Spencer Publication building, he noticed that many changes had been made since his departure, including Katie's picture in the lobby as CEO of the company. Bill questioned Liam about how things were going with Wyatt, and Liam admitted he was wary of his intentions toward Hope and considers his brother to be two-faced. Maya went to Rick's office to confront him about how quickly he turned to Caroline following their fight. Maya was furious with Rick, and she returned the heirloom necklace he'd given her and also handed him her letter of resignation. Having been previously unaware of all the misdeeds that Bill had done, Wyatt became fired up with disdain for his father, all thanks to Katie. Wyatt realized that everything Quinn had warned him about Bill was all true. Wyatt confronted Bill and told him off for leaving Katie.

Has Bill lost Spencer Publications to Katie? Has he lost Wyatt, too? And do you think Rick can win Maya back? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Thursday, August 29

When Victoria came over to help Avery with the wedding, Avery confessed that there probably wouldn't be a wedding. Victoria vowed the wedding would happen, and insisted that Avery was now stuck with Nick and his crazy family! Across town, when Courtney ran into (and flirted with) Noah, Tyler wondered why Noah didn't go out on a date with the beauty. Noah admitted that while he was attracted to Courtney, she was off-limits because she was Summer's best friend and too young. At Crimson Lights, Nick told Dylan to value every day of Connor's life, because kids grew up so fast. Summer overheard, and later told Courtney that she was planning to leave Genoa City because she was feeling too much pressure. Meanwhile, Nikki arrived and chatted with Nick. When she spotted Summer, she went talk to her, sympathizing over what she was going through. Nikki reminded her that Victor, Jack and Nick might be stubborn, but they loved her more than anything in the world. Although Summer agreed, Nikki went to warn Nick that she suspected that Summer was going to leave town. At the ranch, Adam tried to convince Victor that it would be a good move to buy Chancellor Industries. Victor wanted to know who his son got to pony up the money that had allowed the Newmans to buy back the company. Adam refused to say, prompting Victor to promise to think about buying Chancellor if Adam would reveal the name of his secret investor!

Do you think Victor should make a play to buy Chancellor Industries? And what do you think is in Nikki's letter from Katherine? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Brooke and Bill made a monumental announcement to Hope and Liam about the fact that they were living together. Hope stood up for Katie and lashed out at Brooke and Bill both, calling Bill an arrogant, egocentric jerk. Brooke was upset by Hope's response, but Bill said he'd do whatever it took for as long as it took to win their families' support. When Katie and Wyatt met for the first time, she filled him in on her side of the war with Bill, including his affair with Steffy and her sister. Wyatt was clearly thrown by this news, feeling as though Bill was abandoning yet another one of his children. Rick wondered what happened the night before between him and Caroline when he awoke to find her wearing his shirt, and little else. Maya arrived at Rick's house to apologize only to find that Caroline spent the night. Caroline advised Maya to quit her modeling gig and focus on her acting career and Carter. Maya said she would hear what Rick had to say about the fate of their relationship, first.

Do you think Wyatt will join forces with Katie against Bill? Has Caroline's scheme actually succeeded? Sound off in the comments!

Wednesday, August 28

Avery worried that Faith might give her and Nick trouble about their upcoming wedding. Nick told her that Sharon was going to help convince Faith to accept their marriage. Avery expressed her skepticism over Sharon's good intentions, and admitted that she'd ordered her to stay away from her fiancé! At Sharon's place, Sharon explained to Faith that she understood how much Faith wanted Nick and her to get back together, but that Nick was still going to marry Avery. Of course, the blonde stunner was secretly gleeful when her daughter remained stubbornly insistent that Nick would be much happier with Sharon than with the legal eagle! At Mason's place, Neil questioned him over whether he knew Ann Turner, and showed him the cell number that Ann had called frequently. Mason promised to give him a list of employees that might have access to the phone. After Neil left, he texted Hilary to give her a heads up about Neil's investigation! At Crimson Lights, Devon accused Hilary of being up to something. Later, Cane ran into Hilary, and was surprised when Hilary told him that Devon had accused her of trying to cause problems in his marriage. When Cane questioned Devon, he insisted that Hilary was making him into the bad guy. Lily and Devon revealed their suspicions about Hilary. After Devon left, Cane and Lily argued about Hilary's intentions. Lily suggested that they work together to come up with a plan to expose Hilary. Meanwhile, Neil told Devon that he believed Mason was working with Ann. At the police station, Kevin told Paul that Carmine had lured Alex to Chicago, but he believed the stalker was in Genoa City, and had even gotten a badge as a maintenance worker in Lauren and Michael's building. Meanwhile, Carmine knocked out Michael, and then grabbed Lauren, saying that he'd turned on the gas and they could now die happy together! Just when Carmine suggested no one would save her, Michael revived, and battled him! While her hubby occupied Carmine, Lauren raced for a gun, and then told Michael that she wanted to end Carmine's torment once and for all! Surprisingly, Michael urged her to put the gun down, reminding her that she'd stopped him before he'd shot Carmine. Paul arrived in time to arrest Carmine. After Paul carted him off to jail, Michael admitted that he wanted deep down for Lauren to kill him!

Do you think Nick and Avery should postpone their wedding because of Faith? And is Mason only asking for trouble by aligning himself with Hilary/Ann? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Tuesday, August 27

Michael comforted Lauren after she had a nightmare about Carmine. At the police station, Kevin blasted Alex for sending Carmine's computer to the FBI. Alex, however, revealed that his FBI buddy had traced Carmine to a rented apartment in Chicago. A skeptical Kevin suggested that Carmine was setting them up. Michael and Lauren arrived, with Michael demanding that Alex find Carmine and lock him up! While the couple went to Crimson Lights, Carmine broke into their apartment, and turned on the gas. When Michael and Lauren arrived home, Carmine knocked Michael out in the kitchen, as he turned off the gas! Back at the GCPD, Kevin searched Carmine's computer files. At the Chancellor mansion, Cane and Esther remembered Katherine. When Cane spotted the drawing of Katherine, Esther revealed that the matriarch had left that for Jill, and they both wondered at its significance. Across town, Hilary posted a suggestive photo of her and Cane that Mason had taken. Mason wondered at her scheme for revenge but she countered by saying her mother had been a good person, and she wanted to make sure Neil's family suffered! When he wondered if Hilary/Ann was using him, she insisted they were partners, and made love to him! At Crimson Lights, Lily told Devon that she was increasingly suspicious of Hilary. Later, she saw the scandalous photo of a shirtless Cane and Hilary, and Devon warned her not to flip out. When Cane arrived, she showed him the picture of him and Hilary, and told him that Hilary was up to no good! At the ranch, Neil visited Nikki, worried that Katherine's death might send Nikki back to the bottle. She insisted that she was fine, and the two discussed dying with a clean slate, prompting Nikki to think about her secret. Paul arrived, and revealed that the number she'd given him had been disconnected. When he said that he'd continue to dig around, Nikki wondered if this might be a sign that she shouldn't continue her quest! At the GCAC, Summer ran into Victor. He suggested that she leave town, and relax somewhere away from the craziness — and the Abbotts! Overhearing, Jack confronted Victor, and the two got into an argument. Summer blasted both of them, saying that she wished she wasn't an Abbott or a Newman! Upon arriving, Nick tried to reach out to Summer, but she stormed off. Nick angrily pointed out that Jack and Victor's animosity was only hurting Summer! After Jack left, Victor told Nick that Katherine's death made him realize nothing was more important than family, and wished that Nick would open up his heart to Adam. Nick, however, insisted that while Adam may be Victor's son, he didn't consider him a brother! Later, Summer called Courtney, revealing she was considering leaving town. At the Abbott mansion, Nick warned Jack to back off. Jack refused, saying that Nick had cost him enough time with his daughter! Meanwhile, Neil went to see Mason, wondering if he knew Ann Turner. Hilary/Ann went to Crimson Lights and spotted Lily and Cane kissing. Devon saw her reaction, and wondered if her plan wasn't working out as she'd hoped!

Do you think Hilary/Ann has a right to be angry at Neil and his family? And is Carmine crossing a line that he can't come back from? Share your thoughts in the comments!

While talking to Rafael, Caroline wondered whether or not telling Rick about Maya would work in her favor or backfire on her. In complete disbelief, Rick interrogated Maya about the night that she spent with Carter. When Maya revealed the truth, Rick was unsure if he could continue a relationship with her. Her failure to tell him the truth made him rethink whether she was the right woman for him. Rick told Maya it had been a long day and he didn't think they could work things out tonight. Caroline was at Rick's house with a glass of wine by the time he returned home. She showed him some of the raw footage of Maya and Carter getting very chummy at work. Caroline also ended up stripping down to her undies and attempting to seduce him. Rafael schemed to seal the deal between Maya and Carter by texting them to request that they meet him on the ROOM 8 set. Though the two actors met up privately on-set, Maya declined Carter's offer to let him take her for coffee. Liam presented Hope with a special bracelet to commemorate the rebranding of Hope for the Future. He thanked Hope for sticking by him through everything and then they made love.

Do you think Carter and Caroline will be successful in prying Rick and Maya apart? Share your opinions in the comments!

Correction!

LilyCane.jpg

We would like to apologize for a typo in the current issue of CBS Soaps In Depth, on sale now. In the Readers' Poll on page 36, the text for THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS question "Should Lily give in to her feelings for Tyler" is correct, remarking how Lily and Cane fans were annoyed to even have to answer the question. But due to a typo in the actual results, the numbers were swapped, making it appear that fans voted in favor of Lily and Tyler, which clearly, they did not. The actual results should be 82% against it and 18% in favor of it. Sorry about that!

The decision was left up to Eric when Thorne and Thomas demanded a regime change, hoping he would oust Rick as president of Forrester Creations. After reviewing the recent sales numbers, Eric saw that many large orders had been placed following the showing, so he decided that Rick should remain on as Forrester's president. Rick, Hope, Caroline and many others on staff celebrated the company's triumph, but Thorne and Thomas sulked. Maya let Carter know she was going to confess to Rick about the night he stayed at her apartment. Trying to help Caroline reunite with Rick, Rafael encouraged Carter to pursue Maya. When Caroline's request to spend the evening with Rick was denied, she told him about Maya's night with Carter. Rick was furious with Caroline, thinking she was scheming again, but when he confronted Maya about what he'd just learned, and was shocked to hear Maya acknowledge it was true.

Monday, August 26

At the ranch, Paul went to see Nikki, who was in tears while rereading Katherine's letter. Victoria interrupted, and she shared the news that she and Billy had reconciled and were also thinking about trying to have a baby again! At Crimson Lights, Chelsea revealed to Chloe that Adam had held Connor. Chloe wondered what she was thinking to let the real dad hold the babe! Chelsea explained that her ex had come over to ask her to be a character witness, but she insisted that he didn't deserve to go to prison for a rape that he didn't commit! Chloe argued that Chelsea was the one who deserved a happy life, and the only way she could get it was to make sure that Adam wasn't in it! Chelsea defended Adam to Chloe, and later approached Melanie to stick up for her ex-hubby, saying that he might have done awful things, but he wasn't the monster she was accusing him of being! Meanwhile, Billy and Delia began building a bookcase. When Chloe arrived to pick up Delia, Billy hit his thumb with a hammer. Delia suggested that Chloe kiss it and make it better. The fashionista obeyed, but just as she gave the kiss, Victoria arrived home to witness the touching scene! At the Chancellor mansion, Jill ordered Esther to give her the combination to the safe. But Esther wondered if Mrs. C. would have wanted her to give it to her, prompting the two to argue. Across town, Cane reread Katherine's letter, which urged him to continue to be there for Jill. Taking that advice to heart, he went to see Jill. When she expressed bitterness that he was the Chancellor CEO, not her, Cane warned her not to push everyone away, or else she'd end up alone! After he left, Jill remembered the safe combination, and found a drawing of Katherine inside. At the GCAC, Adam told Jack that he wanted Leslie to cut Melanie a deal, but he would refuse to admit to rape for lighter charges. After telling Jack that both of his exes had turned down testifying on his behalf, he wondered if it was time to cut his losses and leave Genoa City. However, Jack said that running would only make things worse! When Paul overheard Adam order the Newman jet, the chief of police reminded him that he couldn't leave town until after he was cleared from the rape charges! Luckily for Adam, that came soon, with Melanie dropping her charge against him. Aware that Chelsea was responsible for his reversal of fortune, Adam stopped by the loft to thank her. She told him that he could thank her by staying away from her family! Meanwhile, Melanie arrived at the police station to ask for Paul's help.

Are you happy that Melanie dropped the rape charge against Adam? And do you think Chloe could threaten Billy and Victoria's reconciliation? Share your thoughts in the comments!

The Twist You Didn't See Coming!

HilaryMason.jpg

While it hasn't been 100 percent confirmed yet, Y&R viewers have pretty much figured out that Cane's beautiful assistant Hilary appears to be Rose's daughter, Anne — the online blogger who has been tormenting Neil and the Winters' clan by posting embarrassing rumors and personal information. But last week, it became clear that the lovely vixen hasn't been acting alone after she entered an apartment and hunky Mason emerged from the bathroom wearing only a towel! Of course, the steamy lip-lock that followed was another clue that this couple might be Genoa City's newest scheme team!

Lamon Archey, who plays Mason, says that executive producer Jill Farren Phelps gave him a heads up over the plot twist for his character during the Daytime Emmys in June. "She said to me, 'I just saw something good for your character.' Then a few weeks later I got the script, and thought, 'We've got something good!' There were no hints that it was going to come about, so fans were totally surprised, which was awesome!"

In fact, Archey says that he tried to keep the secret with a self-imposed Internet silence. "I didn't tweet. I didn't say anything. I kept things low key!" he grins. "I think I tweeted Mishael [Morgan, Hilary] benignly once [and] people on Twitter put two and two together, and said, 'Oh, wait a minute, why are these two talking? But [after the scene aired] so many people were into the shocker. It got Twitter going!"

What do you think of the plot twist?

Friday, August 23

The Hope For The Future (HFTF) rebranding fashion show was in full swing as the Forrester Creations staff waited with bated breath for feedback from the audience. Seeing that the reaction was lackluster, Thomas and Thorne watched the failure with glee and eagerly awaited to see if Eric would fire Rick. Seeing that it may not be an opportune moment for Rick, Caroline contemplated telling him about Maya and Carter. Eric chatted privately with the fashion buyers, but it was unclear what response he received. Backstage, Thorne prepared to accept the new crown of "president," but an angry Rick demanded that he let Eric speak and make his decision.

Friday, August 23

Nick asked Sharon why Faith thought they might get back together. When she insisted that she wasn't planting ideas in their daughter's head, he asked for help in making her understand that they would never, ever get back together! At Nick's place, Avery tried to win Faith over, but the little girl continued to be horrible to her. When Nick arrived, Faith tried to get Avery into trouble by claiming the legal eagle had yelled at her. Flabbergasted, Avery explained the situation to Nick, who understood and hoped that with Sharon's support, Faith would get over her animosity. Back at Sharon's place, Sharon worried to Cassie about how she could stop Nick from walking down the aisle with Avery. Later, Avery went to see Sharon and warned her to stay the hell away from Nick! Afterwards, Sharon and Cassie decided to use Avery's insecurity against her to cause problems! Across town, Dylan wondered why Adam was at the loft, holding Connor! After taking the baby from him, the war vet warned Adam to stay away from his wife and son! Adam asked Chelsea to testify on his behalf, but Chelsea said she couldn't get involved in his life again. Still, she had second thoughts after he thanked her for her honesty and left. When Connor had a coughing fit, a freaked-out Chelsea and Dylan rushed him the hospital. Thankfully, the infant was fine. When she went to get Dylan a comforting cup of coffee at Crimson Lights, Chelsea ran into Melanie. At the ranch, Nikki read the letter that Katherine left her. Victor comforted her over their friend's passing. Later, Victor told the newly arrived Adam about Katherine's death, prompting Adam to suggest Newman Enterprises take over Chancellor Industries. Appalled, Victor said that would be equivalent to dancing on his friend's grave! Adam asked him to keep an open mind about Chancellor, and then confided his pain over seeing Chelsea and the baby. At the Chancellor mansion, Esther gave Jill a sealed envelope from Katherine. She then read her own letter out loud, breaking down in tears. After the maid left, Jill read her letter, and interpreted it to mean that Katherine had given her her fortune! Alas, she gave it to her with a riddle. Nikki arrived, and the two discussed Katherine's memorial, and admitted that Katherine was still trying to control them via the letters. After Nikki left, Jill remembered the safe, but couldn't remember the combination! Back at the ranch, Nikki reread her letter, and was upset at what Katherine was asking her to do!

Overwhelmed with guilt, Maya consulted with Carter about whether or not to confess to Rick about their one night together. Maya let Rick know she needed to see him alone after the show. Backstage at the fashion preview, Rafael told Caroline that he saw Carter doing "the walk of shame" from Maya's apartment the night after their ROOM 8 premiere. Thorne and Thomas ruthlessly anticipated Rick's fall from Eric's good graces and predicted it would cost him the Forrester presidency. Adam called to ask Chelsea meet him, prompting her to remind him that they were divorced. After she hung up, Dylan revealed that Adam wanted her to be a character witness for him. When the war vet suggested Adam might have raped Melanie, Chelsea defended her ex, refusing to believe it! At the GCAC, Adam ran into Melanie. While he apologized for the way he'd treated her, he urged her to drop the lawsuit. Alas, their encounter escalated into an argument with Melanie eventually yelling at Adam to leave her alone! Witnessing it, Leslie ordered her client to stay away from his alleged victim, or else find another lawyer! She also dismissed having Jack as his character witness, saying they needed a woman to vouch for him. Taking that advice to heart, Adam went to ask Chelsea to be his character witness. Yet when she answered the door carrying Connor, he was taken aback, then complimented her on her motherhood "glow". Later, Adam picked up a crying Connor as Chelsea ran for a burp cloth, unaware that he was comforting his own son. Observing, Chelsea was rocked with guilt. Dylan arrived at that moment, and wondered what the heck was going on! At the ranch, Sharon assured Nick that she only regarded him as a friend. Upon arriving, Avery tried hard not to be jealous over Sharon's continual presence in Nick's life, and then encouraged Nick to let Faith know that they were getting married soon. Unfortunately, Faith reacted poorly -- saying he should marry Sharon, not Avery! Stunned, Nick confronted Sharon about it, wondering if she were planting ideas in their daughter's head! At the police station, Neil told Kevin, Lily and Leslie that while he hadn't found Rose's daughter, Anne, on his trip to London, he'd found newspaper clippings and a Wisconsin number that she'd called frequently. Shockingly, Kevin traced that number to Newman Enterprises! Meanwhile, Cane confided in Hilary about his turbulent relationship with Katherine. She responded by confessing that she hadn't been there for her mother when she'd died -- then cried on Cane's shoulder! When Lily returned home, she wasn't happy when she smelled Hilary's perfume on her hubby. Across town, Hilary arrived at an apartment. Mason emerged from the shower, and the two gave into a passionate embrace!

Do you think Chelsea should be a character witness for Adam? And what do you think of Hilary's relationship with Mason? Share your thoughts in the comments!

The morning after making love to Bill, Brooke was distracted by the decision she made, knowing that it could affect her relationship with Katie and Hope. Bill convinced her that she did nothing wrong and that Katie, alone, was responsible for losing him. Rick and Caroline frantically worked to prepare for the big Hope For The Future rebranding fashion show, which included renaming the line HFTF. Caroline reiterated to Rick that she blew it with him because she had not been up front with him, whereas Maya always was. She said if she had the chance again, she'd do things differently with him. Maya told Carter she was feeling guilty and was thinking about confessing to Rick about their kiss. Thinking that Rick would not accomplish the hefty goal set for the company, Thorne and Thomas sat back and waited to take over Forrester Creations. Rafael attempted to contact Caroline to tell her about a juicy piece of gossip regarding Carter and Maya, but Caroline was too distracted to speak to him.

Could Caroline really win Rick back? Can Thorne and Thomas unseat Rick? Sound off in the comments!

Jack read Katherine's obituary to Billy and Abby, and regretted battling Katherine over Jabot. Abby and Billy reminded him that everything had worked out for the best, with Jabot back in Abbott hands. Jack vowed to make the company stronger, especially for the next generation. Abby fantasized about running the company, but Jack reminded her that Kyle and Summer had a stake in it as well. Billy added Delia and Johnny to the list -- and any other kids that he and Victoria had, since they'd recently reconciled! At the ranch, Victor admitted that he was motivated by Katherine's death to get his own house in order, including making sure that Summer knew that she was his granddaughter. Nikki applauded him, but after she left, Victor told Victoria that he had no intention of letting Summer have a relationship with Jack "Ass" Abbott! As they argued, she revealed that she'd reconciled with Billy, which had Victor warning her that he would never approve! Furious, Victoria returned home, where she told Billy that Victor was going to try to break them up. Billy suggested they forget Victor, and try to make a baby instead! At Crimson Lights, Noah wondered if Summer had talked to Nick yet. She admitted that she'd been too distracted by Phyllis' condition, prompting him to open up about his own concern regarding Sharon's weird behavior. Across town, Dylan and Chelsea brought baby Connor home. Later, Dylan compared his own baby picture to Connor, and noticed the babe looked nothing like him! Chelsea hurriedly suggested that Connor would grow to look like him. At the GCAC, Tyler agreed to work again at Jabot if Devon hired Noah as the photographer. Devon revealed he was mourning the death of his grandmother, Katherine. Meanwhile, Nikki visited Jack, admitting that Katherine knew some things about her that even Victor didn't know! After returning to the ranch, Nikki was upset when Victor revealed he hadn't changed his mind or his animosity against the Abbott family -- specifically, Billy and Jack! Later, Devon asked Summer if she'd be coming back to work, and offered to be there for her if she needed to talk. Jack overheard her say that she could talk to her dad. When he approached her, though, he realized she'd been talking about Nick, not him!

Do you think Summer has been giving Jack a fair shot to be her dad? And do you think Dylan will figure out that Connor isn't his? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Brooke attempted to refrain from commenting when Katie blamed her for the demise of her marriage to Bill. Unable to contain her opinion any longer, Brooke unleashed blame back upon Katie. Many hurtful words were spoken between the sisters, who unleashed years of pent-up emotion. When Brooke returned home, she found Bill in her bedroom. He told her he had moved in, ready to start his life with her. Brooke told him she couldn't do this, and that he needed to go back to his wife. Bill said no way and insisted he wasn't leaving her. Despite her conflicted emotions, Brooke yielded to Bill and they made love. Learning that Hope was moving in with him and Liam, Wyatt was thrilled that he would have many opportunities to get her to fall for him. Wyatt found a way to push all of Liam's buttons and make things as awkward as possible as a trio.

Do you think Brooke and Bill can make a relationship work after all this drama? Can Wyatt win Hope away from Liam? Share your opinions in the comments!

Avery shocked Nick by suggesting that they marry immediately. Although he wondered why she'd changed her mind, he enthusiastically agreed! At Sharon's house, Noah questioned Sharon about getting a traffic citation, noting that she could've caused an accident that night! Sharon apologized for driving recklessly, but insisted that she was fine. Noah reminded her how quickly things could change -- and used Phyllis' accident as an example of that! Later, Nick called Noah to ask him to be his best man. After getting off the phone, Noah shared the wedding news with Sharon, leaving her stunned! Across town, a tearful Jill told Jack that Katherine had died after going on a "bucket list" vacation. At Crimson Lights, Kyle told Summer that he'd move out of the Abbott mansion so that she could move in and get to know Jack better. Alas, that made Summer feel more pressure, and she warned him not to force her to choose between her two dads! Avery arrived later and asked Summer to be her maid of honor. Back at the Abbott mansion, Jack told Kyle that Katherine had died, and confessed how much he missed her. At the police station, Michael and Lauren showed Paul the latest "gift" -- dead flowers -- that Carmine had sent them. Paul warned Michael to let the police handle finding the stalker! Yet when Alex revealed that they had a location for Carmine, Michael insisted on accompanying the cop to check it out. When Paul tried to stop him, Michael punched him! Paul then handcuffed Michael to a chair, and ordered him to cool off. Lauren got a call from Jack telling her that Jill needed her since Katherine had died! In hiding, Carmine remembered his love affair with Lauren by watching the sex tape again! Later, Lauren went to comfort a sobbing Jill, who was still angry that Katherine hadn't told her that she was dying. Meanwhile, Alex went to the motel Carmine had been holed up in. Not surprisingly, Carmine was gone, but he'd left behind a message on the wall -- "You can't erase me!" Michael interpreted the message to mean that Carmine was warning them that he'd never be out of Lauren's life! Furious, Michael wished he'd killed Carmine when he had the chance! Carmine later called Lauren, wondering if she liked his gift. At the Newman ranch, Noah confided to Nick that he thought Sharon might have begun thinking that she and Nick had more of a relationship than they really had. Meanwhile, Sharon vowed to Cassie that she'd do what she could to stop Nick and Avery's wedding!

Do you think Jill has a right to be angry that Katherine didn't tell her that she was dying? And just how low do you think Michael will go when it comes to Carmine? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Y&R Sets Date For Katherine's Memorial

KatherineMemorial.jpg

This week, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS began dealing with the passing of Jeanne Cooper by writing in the death of her Genoa City alter ego, Katherine. And if you thought you needed tissues already, make sure you stock up for the special two-part memorial service scheduled to air Tuesday, September 3 and Wednesday, September 4.

Cooper's real life son, Corbin Bernsen, will be reprising his role of Father Todd to preside over the service. Also, old friends and family will be returning for the memorial, including Lauralee Bell (Christine), Tricia Cast (Nina), Beau Kazer (Brock), Adrienne Frantz (Amber), Patty Weaver (Gina) and Michael Damian (Danny). Damian will perform "That's When I'll Stop Loving You," which aired previously in the tribute episode in May.

"It's time for the characters of Genoa City to say their goodbyes to Katherine, and while it's heartbreaking for everyone involved, we hope our viewers will find it a fitting tribute to both an irreplaceable character and the amazing woman who portrayed her," said Y&R Executive Producer Jill Farren Phelps. "Katherine had some final surprises up her sleeve that will be revealed at the service and we think everyone will come away with smiles on their faces."

Beginning today, fans can visit a special Web site set up by CBS to see the postcards that the residents of Genoa City recently received as well as Katherine's obituary. They can also view the final scene from today's episode of Y&R.

Khalil's Case Gets Complicated

ChristelKhalilGal.jpg

Earlier this month, we reported that THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS' Christel Khalil was suing her former talent agency, Mavrick Artists Agency, for mishandling her career, even going so far as to send her on an audition for Y&R, the soap she's currently starring on!

Well, according to TheWrap TV, Mavrick has responded with claims that they never withheld any money from her aside from their 10 percent fee, and that Khalil was never sent on an audition for Y&R. "That just couldn't have happened," Mavrick attorney Max Sprecher told the site. "Do you think THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS is so stupid that their casting office would have scheduled such an audition? It wasn't an audition — it was a submission."

Essentially, Mavrick is claiming that it was simply an oversight as agents and their assistants submit clients for a great number of jobs as quickly as possible so as to beat out the competition. They're also disappointed that Khalil chose to file a public case against them instead of entering into private arbitration per AFTRA rules. But now that the dispute is public, Mavrick has released their own statement in their defense, which you can read here.

Monday, August 19

Bill was taken aback when Katie asked for a second chance and vowed to return to being the woman that she was when they got married. Despite her suppressed feelings for Bill, Brooke encouraged him to accept Katie's offer. Bill said no, his marriage was over. An angry Katie made it clear to Bill that he would not like the consequences he would face for walking out on her. Quinn was relieved when Wyatt returned home, but when he said he wasn't moving back in, they got into another argument about Bill and the secret Quinn had kept. Feeling as though Liam didn't deserve the life that he had (Spencer Publications and Hope included), Wyatt told his mother he vowed to change things. Liam told Hope he didn't think Wyatt respected his boundaries, but Hope tried to allay his concerns. Liam asked Hope to move into his house with him and Wyatt. She accepted his offer.

Should Bill have returned to Katie? Is Wyatt going to steal Liam's life? Share your opinions in the comments!

Jill suspected that she knew why Katherine had invited everyone to the mansion, but preferred to wait for Katherine to arrive and explain why she'd sent all the postcards. Still, she admitted that Katherine had once told her that before she died, she wanted to visit all the places that were represented by the postcards. Murphy arrived, and shared the sad news that Katherine had known that she was going to die, prompting the whirlwind trip. He revealed that the matriarch had passed away in her sleep. Devastated, Jill blamed Katherine for robbing her of one last good-bye! Murphy defended Katherine's decision to keep her fatal illness to herself, and then gave a letter from her for Nikki to read to everyone. Murphy reminded everyone to think about Katherine, not with sadness, but with love! At the ranch, Sharon and Faith fell asleep on Nick's shoulder. Avery spied the family snuggling together through the window. Nick was thrilled when Avery knocked on the door, and took off with the beauty. Not surprisingly, Sharon was less pleased! Noah arrived at Sharon's place, and noticed the picture of Nick that Sharon had told him that she wanted to give to Faith. Yet when he asked his little sister about the photo, she said that she hadn't seen it! Later, Noah found Sharon's traffic ticket. Meanwhile, Nick and Avery celebrated her homecoming by making love. Sharon interrupted their evening by giving Nick his coat back. When Nick went to put the coat away, Sharon reminded Avery that she and Nick shared children together, so she would be popping by a lot! When Sharon returned from Nick's place, Noah questioned her about the photo and wondered what was going on! He then confronted her about her traffic ticket, noting that she'd gotten it near the M.S. benefit! Back at Nick's place, Avery suggest that they get married sooner rather than later!

Do you think Avery and Nick should marry ASAP? And do you think that Noah will be the one to figure out Sharon's secrets? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Wyatt paid a visit to Spencer Publications for the first time and began to take in the lifestyle that could be his. Liam gave Wyatt a rundown of the Spencer family and hinted at Bill's ongoing problems with Katie. Wyatt extended an olive branch to Liam in hopes of starting their relationship fresh, but it was clear the two young men were very different in many ways. By the time Wyatt left his brother's office, he seemed to have grand aspirations about someday running his father's company. Brooke and Bill flew back to L.A., and Brooke attempted to play mediator to Bill and Katie's marriage. Katie tearfully apologized to Bill and told him that she wanted him back.

Friday, August 16

Nikki was thrilled when she received a postcard from Katherine, inviting her and Victor over to the Chancellor mansion later. Nikki wasn't alone — Katherine sent postcards to Cane, Lily, Chloe, Kevin, Devon, Esther and Jill as well. Jill wondered what the matriarch was up to by sending everyone postcards from all over the world. Everyone gathered in the mansion as a storm shook Genoa City. Jill got a cell call from Katherine, but lost the call because of the storm. Jill got a premonitory chill that had her worried. Later, Murphy called Jill on Katherine's phone and asked everyone to wait for him to get to the mansion. Again, they speculated as to what the postcards and Katherine's world trip meant. When Victor mentioned that it was a trip of a lifetime, Jill suddenly realized what everything meant, and was horrified! Across town, Billy brought Victoria into their house, vowing to make his case that their marriage deserved saving! Although skeptical, Victoria agreed to listen as he reminded her of the many memorable moments they had in their relationship. Afterwards, Victoria finally admitted that she didn't want to go through life without the hunk, and gave him a passionate kiss! At the tack house, Nick prepared champagne for Avery's arrival. At Sharon's place, Faith complained about having an upset stomach. Sharon called Nick to come over to comfort his daughter. He agreed, and wrote a note to let Avery know where he was, unaware that it blew off the table when he opened the door to leave! Later, Avery arrived to an empty house. Summer arrived shortly afterwards, and Avery comforted her about Phyllis. After Summer left, Avery found Nick's note, and went over to Sharon's house, where she saw through the window Nick, Faith, and Sharon all asleep together on the sofa after an evening of playing games!

Do you think Victoria should give Billy a second chance? And should Avery be concerned over Sharon's influence with Nick? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Thursday, August 15

At Crimson Lights, Dylan revealed to Adam that he'd be bringing his family home tomorrow. Adam wondered how they could bring the preemie home so soon. The war vet dismissed Adam's speculation and again reminded the Harvard grad that Chelsea wouldn't be a character witness for him against Melanie. At the ranch, Nick asked Victoria to help get their dad off Jack's back. Victoria said that the only thing Victor wanted to hear from her was that she was divorcing Billy, especially after her estranged hubby tried to strong-arm The Mustache into ousting Adam and rehiring Victoria at Newman! Meanwhile Nikki encouraged Jack to continue to have a relationship with Summer despite any roadblocks that Victor put up. Jack confessed to her that he'd been close to taking pills to deal with Phyllis' condition, but he realized he needed to be there for Summer. Billy arrived, and told Nikki that Victor issued a public statement that he was supporting Adam against the rape charges. When he lamented that Victor hadn't ousted Adam in favor of putting Victoria back at Newman, Jack argued, saying that he didn't believe Adam had raped anyone! Nikki warned Billy not to try to save his marriage by getting Victoria back into Newman Enterprises and all the drama that entailed! Later, Sharon told Victor that she was considering helping Adam by being his character witness against Melanie. However, when Adam arrived, she reminded him on how he'd jilted her at the altar when she went to prison, and announced that she wouldn't be a character witness for him! After she left, Victor suggested that Adam go out of town for business until the scandal died down. Afterwards, Adam went to Jack, and shared his belief that Victor would eventually disown him. Jack offered to be Adam's character witness. Sharon returned to the ranch, where she told Nick that she'd turned Adam's request to be a character witness down. Not surprisingly, the news delighted Nick, who poured wine to celebrate. Sharon was thrilled to spend the time with her ex... until Avery called to tell Nick that she'd be home the next day! At the hospital, Anita visited Chelsea, and warned her daughter that she needed to stay on her toes because she'd spun so many lies that it would be too easy for it all to come crashing down! Chelsea lashed out at her mom, saying she'd never been a good mom, and vowed to fight for Dylan and Connor! Then she ordered her mom out of her life forever! Victoria then visited Chelsea, telling her that she'd keep her paternity secret forever. Later, Billy asked Victoria to give him time while he prepared the house with a surprise for her!

Do you think Chelsea is wrong to banish Anita from her life forever? And do you think it's karma that Sharon refused to help Adam? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Thursday, August 15

After making love to Rick, Maya began to worry that he would find out about her romantic evening with Carter. Bill found Brooke in front of the Prince of Monaco's palace and told her to stop running. They kissed passionately, but when Bill later tried to take things further back at the hotel room, Brooke stopped him. She didn't want to risk her relationship with Katie any more by taking Bill up on his offer. He insisted his marriage to Katie was over and asked Brooke to build a life with him. Brooke finally agreed, but said they would have to go home and tell Katie in person, first. Brooke thought that if Bill were to see Katie again, things might look differently to him. Bill swore he wouldn't change his mind about Brooke. Carter made a valiant attempt to convince Maya that he was much better for her than Rick. Carter told Maya he had fallen in love with her and would not back off. After seeing Carter leave Maya's apartment, Rafael seemed to be hatching a plan. Hope and Liam urged Katie to fight for her marriage, and she deliberated on what to do next.

Do you think Bill is truly in love with Brooke? Can Maya keep her indiscretion a secret? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Y&R Headwriter Out?

Griffith.jpg

Is there a new headwriter taking over at THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS? According to Highlight Hollywood, headwriter Josh Griffith has resigned from the show, E-mailing his team that he was leaving due to irreconcilable differences.

Buzz has been circulating for the past few days that Griffith -- who previously was co-executive producer of Y&R under Lynn Latham's tenure and served as headwriter during the 2007-2008 Writers Strike -- was on his way out, a year after returning to the soap. Adding fuel to the proverbial fire, Griffith has made some cryptic comments on his Facebook page, including "a new adventure begins" -- that has since been deleted.

A source tells Soaps In Depth that veteran soap writer Shelly Altman, a member of the current Y&R team, will move into the position. (Altman's previous positions include posts at ANOTHER WORLD, GENERAL HOSPITAL and ONE LIFE TO LIVE.) From what we hear, Altman's co-headwriter could either be former AS THE WORLD TURNS head scribe Jean Passanante (currently on the GH team) or Tracey Thompson, another Y&R staff writer.

A spokesperson for the soap had no comment.

Wednesday, August 14

Summer stayed over at Jack's place. Jack continued to sympathize with her over Phyllis' condition, and invited her out to lunch for further bonding. Yet at On The Boulevard they ran into Kyle who was clearly on a date. Recognizing Summer's discomfort, Jack suggested that they continue their lunch date somewhere else, but she said that she had to adjust to the situation since she couldn't avoid her new half brother forever. Alas, that was easier than done, and after witnessing Kyle flirt with the unknown woman, a tearful Summer ran off! At the ranch, Nick tended to Sharon's sprained ankle. Sharon received a photo traffic ticket in the mail, and realized that she'd gotten racing to the M.S. benefit, where she fought with Phyllis! When Nick questioned her about it, she brushed it off, saying that it was just the DMV letting her know that she needed to get her driver's license renewed. Adam arrived to ask Sharon to be his character witness against Melanie. Overhearing, Nick warned his ex not to have anything to do with Adam! After both men left, Sharon gleefully told Cassie that her plan to win back Nick appeared to be working. At Newman Enterprises, Victor gave a statement to the media saying that he was fully supportive of Adam, and believed the rape charges were completely bogus. Of course, that didn't stop him from later calling his P.I. to order him to dig into his youngest son's life until he found out what agenda Adam seemed to be hiding! Later, Victor went to On The Boulevard, and immediately argued with Jack over which family Summer rightfully belonged to! Upon arriving, Nick ordered his dad to calm down, since all the fighting only confirmed Summer's fear that she'd be the one to ignite the next Newman-Abbott feud! Across town, Neil read the blog post that was in response to his apology and attempt to get the blogger to reveal themselves. Unfortunately, the blogger wasn't mollified, calling Neil a murderer and refusing to reveal their identity until Neil lost more than they had! Cane noticed Hilary reading the blog post. After scanning it, the Aussie said he didn't believe for a second that Neil had killed someone! Meanwhile, Tyler told Noah that he planned to go back to work at Jabot with the stipulation that they also hire him as one of their photographers.

Do you think Sharon should be a character witness for Adam? And could Summer's paternity ignite the next Newman-Abbott feud? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Wednesday, August 14

Brooke confronted Donna about why she chose not to reveal Katie's plan to spy on her and Bill. Donna thought Brooke might now have a future with Bill, but Brooke insisted that wasn't the case. Brooke called Katie and let him know that Bill was in Monte Carlo with her. She told her sister to come there, immediately, to salvage her marriage. Katie felt furious to find out that Bill had run straight to Brooke. She told Brooke that she won; she could have Bill. Bill later insisted to Brooke that he was finished with Katie and wanted a future with her, instead. Distressed, Brooke ran away from him. Bill ran after her, chasing her through Monte Carlo. Maya began to immediately regret her night with Carter after she read the several apologetic texts from Rick. Faced with the harsh reality of what she had done, Katie knew that she was now suffering the consequences. Maya was grateful for Carter's support the night before, even though it did not go as far as he might have liked. As Carter awaited (he hoped) another romantic evening with Maya, she and Rick reconciled.

Will Rick discover Maya's indiscretion? Has Katie truly destroyed any hope of salvaging her marriage? Share your opinions in the comments!

Rafael really played it up to Rick about how upset Maya was when she left the party with Carter. Bill made a grand gesture to Brooke about how he felt about his future with Katie when he removed his wedding ring and flung it into the sea from the deck of his yacht. Brooke refused to give in to Bill's declaration of love, insisting that he belonged with Katie. Bill said he was through with Katie and ready to move on with Brooke. Liam visited Katie who tearfully told him she thought her marriage was over. Liam assured Katie that Bill would ultimately make the right decision about their marriage. Carter used his charm and a lot of wine to help Maya ease the pain of her heartbreak. Rick left repeated voicemails on Maya's phone apologizing and he went to Carter's apartment, not realizing that Maya and Carter were actually at Maya's place.

Tuesday, August 13

With Avery still in Georgia, Sharon brought groceries over to Nick's place, and promised to take good care of him while his fiancée was out of town. They reminisced over their history together, with Sharon admitting that he'd helped her through her dark times over the years. Later, Sharon was irritated when Avery called, especially when she overheard Nick tell her how much he missed her. Deliberately, the blonde stunner tripped down the stairs, prompting Nick to whisk her off her feet! Jack returned to the Abbott mansion, distraught that Phyllis wasn't with him. John materialized to comfort his son, urging him to find a way to get through the pain. Alas, Jack considered popping a pill to ease his agony! At On The Boulevard, Traci and Abby invited Summer for lunch -- and a little encouragement on how she shouldn't feel pressured to choose sides between the Newmans and the Abbotts. Jack called Summer, and invited her over. When she arrived, he bonded with her about missing Phyllis! Across town, Lily battled the green-eyed monster when she observed how close Cane and Hilary were while working together. After Hilary left, Lily nitpicked Cane's assistant, prompting Cane to accuse her of being jealous. Lily blamed her bad mood on the online blogger. Cane insisted that he loved her, and wouldn't let anyone come between them! At Crimson Lights, Devon tried to hire Tyler back at Jabot, but they again sniped at each other over Tyler's interest in Lily. Tyler did agree to come back if Devon apologized to him -- which put Devon's back up and he said that he had nothing to apologize for! After Tyler left, Hilary approached Devon and asked about his music career. Surprised, Devon admitted that it had been a while since he'd been involved in the music business. Later, Lily ran into Devon at the coffee shop, and the two voiced suspicions over Hilary, believing she was just a tad too good to be true! At the police station, Neil told Alex that he was responsible for Rose's death. After questioning the exec, Alex dismissed Neil's culpability in the woman's death, and then helped them set a trap for the mystery blogger by sending a message! At the same time, Hilary's cell phone beeped, letting her know she had a message!

Do you think Hilary is Neil's online tormentor? And could Jack slip back to his pill-popping ways without Phyllis? Share your thoughts in the comments!
