Godfrey Lights The Night!

Five years in remission after battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL's Linsey Godfrey (Caroline) is still doing her part to beat cancer. On October 6th, she'll participate as an "Honored Hero" in the Leukemia And Lymphoma Society's "Light The Night Walk" to help raise awareness and funding for cancer research. It's the first time the actress will participate in the event, and she's currently rallying support for her "Oh My Godfrey" team.

To find out how you can help, simply visit Godfrey's personal team Web site. "People can contribute, or join the team and come walk with me at the event," says the actress. By visiting her site, you can also read more about the Godfrey's personal fight against cancer and see pictures of her throughout the course of her treatment, including after she'd lost her hair as a result of her chemotherapy. "It's one thing for me to say I used to be sick and another thing for people to actually see it," she explains.

Godfrey hopes sharing her own experience with cancer helps encourage viewers who may be going through a similar ordeal. It's a cause that's close to her heart, not just because of her own battle, but because her step-mom also survived Hodgkins Lymphoma. "I'm five years in remission and she's eight years in remission. I'm happy to be able to celebrate her fight, as well as mine. So this is a cause that's important to me on many levels."

A recent post by Sean Kanan on Facebook declaring, "Looks like I'm coming back. Stay tuned," had fans wondering if the actor would be bringing Deacon back to THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL or THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. But now we can confirm that Kanan is actually returning to B&B, where he will no doubt become embroiled in Hope's drama-filled life again. Also, could Deacon fill the Ridge-shaped hole in Brooke's life after the exit of Ronn Moss?

At this point, a rep for the soap would only confirm that Kanan's first airdate would be Monday, September 19. They're keeping mum on the duration of his stint and any storyline details. So you'll just have to tune in and see what happens!

Y&R's New Noah

As we had previously reported, Kevin Schmidt was let go as Noah on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, but now we have confirmation that the role has been recast, with HOLLYWOOD HEIGHTS star Robert Adamson. His first airdate is scheduled for October 1.

"Guess the word is out on Y&R," Adamson Tweeted on Friday. "I'm not supposed to talk about details yet... soon."

Jill Farren Phelps was the executive producer of HOLLYWOOD HEIGHTS before taking on the same role at Y&R, so could Adamson be just the first in a series of actors from previous projects the exec might bring to Genoa City? Remember, Phelps also headed up GENERAL HOSPITAL over on ABC for a long while!

Y&R's Lily Out!

According to her official Web site, Christel Khalil is out at THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS! "It is not her decision to leave," the site reports. "An agreement could not be reached during contract negotiations."

At this time, there is no official confirmation from the soap regarding a final airdate for the Emmy-winning fan-favorite, but it puts a new spin on a recent casting notice Y&R sent out looking for an African-American woman in her mid-20s who is "vivacious, energetic, ambitious. She's a mom balancing work and family. She's had her share of tough times, but always bounces back from even the most trying situations."

That sure sounds like Lily to us! The role has been recast before, with Davetta Sherwood briefly taking over as Dru's daughter in 2006 before Khalil took back the part. As soon as we get any more information on this developing story, we'll be sure to let you know!

Chloe's DAYS Continue!

A year after being dropped from DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Nadia Bjorlin is heading back to Salem. Rumors of her return have been floating around for a while now, and according to an interview the actress did with, she'll be back on the air starting January 4, 2013. (Looks like DAYS is taping really far in advance!)

Bjorlin admits that when her alter ego was written off of the soap, she barely recognized Chloe, but promises that the character will be returning to Salem as the strong, confident woman she used to be. "There are so many possibilities for the character," she says, "and they've only told me a little bit right now because they don't trust me with the information. It's been very hush-hush!"

Flannery Out At B&B!

THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL is apparently coping with the exit of not one major star, but two! Soaps In Depth has learned that Susan Flannery (Stephanie), one of the show's "core four" who has been on the soap since its 1987 premiere, has told the powers-that-be of her intention to leave the show. A source tells us the actress has signed a short-term contract with B&B to allow executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell some time to strategize in terms of storyline. The news comes a little more than a week after Ronn Moss (Ridge) announced he was leaving the role. A B&B rep confirmed that Flannery recently signed a new contract with the show but stated, "It's our policy not to comment on the terms of actors' contracts."

One bright note in the midst of all this disheartening news: Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) issued a statement on Friday saying she'd be sticking around. "I'm very happy to tell you that I have re-signed my contract with THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL for two more years," says the actress. "Brad has come up with an exciting new storyline for Brooke that I think the fans are going to love."

New App For Classic B&B Episodes

If you're a fan of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL and own a Roku set-top box that's connected to your TV, you're in luck! Because adRise has just released a B&B TV app, which showcases 75 of the soap's most memorable episodes. Three collections are also included: "Most Shocking Moments," "Catfights And Brawls," and "Best of Ridge, Brooke And Taylor." You just install the free app on your Roku set-top box, and then you can watch the episodes on your TV at no charge (but with some ads, naturally).

"Viewers have responded enthusiastically, saying they hope to see more," said adRise executive, Thomas Ahn Hicks. "Our initial data indicates there is a passionate viewing audience for THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL. Viewers typically watch all of the episodes once they have viewed a few of them."

If you're not a Roku owner, don't worry. adRise will be releasing the app onto other services later this year, including internet-connected TVs, Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, game consoles, iPads and Android tablets. So eventually, we'll all be able to get our fix of classic B&B action!

Schmidt Out As Noah

Rumors have been flying over the past couple days that THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS would be recasting the role of Noah again, and now Kevin Schmidt himself has confirmed to Soaps In Depth that he is once again being replaced. (Noah was recast in 2010 with GOSSIP GIRL's Luke Kleintank before Schmidt was brought back to the role in 2011.)

"I was up in San Francisco at Outside Lands [Music And Arts Festival] when my manager got a call last Friday," Schmidt confides. "He didn't think that was the right time to let me know that Y&R was recasting again. That was the right call for sure! When I got back Monday, he let me know."

Unfortunately, the actor remains in the dark as to exactly why he was brought back to play Noah, and then replaced once again. "I was on hold to work next week, and then they just kind of dropped this bomb on me," he admits. "I was like, 'Okay, I'll roll with the punches. That's what I do.'"

Having worked so sporadically during this stint — his final episode would have been Jack's wedding — Schmidt has already been doing a lot outside of the soap. "I've got an animated film in production," he reports, "Cheaper By The Dozen 3 is coming up in the fall, I'm meeting with Steve Martin shortly. I'm developing an application for smart phones, a simple game for people to connect with each other... I'm always doing something!

"The best thing about Y&R is that it allowed me to keep my stuff polished while I went off and chased other endeavors," Schmidt continues. "I've made some great friends. As I move into my productions in the future, I have a whole alumni of talent to pull upon. I've had a flood of support from everybody on the show."

At this time, Y&R's production is on vacation for a week, so there has been no official word from the soap as to when the role of Noah will be recast, or with whom.

Moss Quits!

Having starred on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL since its premiere episode as one of the soap's core characters Ronn Moss (Ridge) is saying goodbye to the show he's called home for the last 25 years. It's been reported that a salary impasse was behind Moss's decision to leave. The actor attempted to console his many Twitter followers and fans who were saddened by the news. "Try and not be sad, angry, disappointed..." he tweeted. "It's been a great run and all good things end eventually. As this door closes, others are opening."

Moss's departure comes as a shock to many, especially given how close he is to fellow castmates like Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and Hunter Tylo (Taylor). "I would miss B&B terribly if I had to leave," he told Soaps In Depth around the time of the show's 20th anniversary five years ago. "There are always things that are rubs, and things you have to deal with, but all in all, it's wonderful being here. I think I would miss all of my cohorts too much to ever [leave]."

Unfortunately, Moss's last tape day at B&B is Tuesday, August 14, and the show has so far remained mum on how they'll factor his exit into the show. "Ronn has spent an amazing 25 years with B&B," says a show rep. "We will always, always consider him family, and we wish him only the best in all of his future endeavors."

Gaskill Goes Dark!

When Emmy nominated Web drama, THE BAY, kicks off its summer special, DARKSIDE OF THE BAY, viewers will learn that there's a whole lot more to Bay City than just rich folks and white sand beaches. Helping to tell the edgy tale will be soap opera veteran, Brian Gaskill (Dylan, GUIDING LIGHT; BJ, AS THE WORLD TURNS; ex-Ozzy, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL). "The [story] is about the show's younger characters getting wrapped up in this dark world on the other side of the tracks," previews Gaskill. "Lianna (played by Jade Harlow; Jessica, PASSSIONS) gets kind of [involved] in the prostitution ring that my character, Chase, works in as a pimp. I'm not the head honcho, but I work for [him]."

Gaskill has explored his own dark side before while playing ATWT's obsessive, BJ Greene, but the actor says that he approached this new character from another direction. "He's very different... laid back and soft spoken," Gaskill suggests. "Somebody who saw the dailies said that it reminded him of Mickey Rourke." The good news is that Gaskill's time in Bay City won't be wrapping up with the dog days of summer.

"Of all the magnificent roles we've seen Gaskill play, this is by far the creepiest," offers series creator Gregori J. Martin. "He was so captivating as Chase that I just had to bring him back for Season 3 of THE BAY [coming this October]." Also debuting in the special will be fellow soap alumni Rib Hillis (Jake, PORT CHARLES), Terri Ivens (Simone, ALL MY CHILDREN), and Massi Furlan (ex-Giovanni, GENERAL HOSPITAL). DARKSIDE OF THE BAY kicks off on Thursday, August 9, at 12 p.m. EST.

Bad Girls Are Back!

Kimberlin Brown's Sheila terrorized both THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, while Marie Wilson's Meg lost her marbles over on AS THE WORLD TURNS, and now both actresses are about to get a little crazy again!

In last summer's THE BAY spin-off, FAR FROM THE BAY, Wilson appeared on the Web soap as Peter Garrett's adoptive mom who lost her grip after losing custody of him, and Brown played her psychiatrist. And now both characters are set to return in the third season of THE BAY, set to debut in October.

"Yes, both Marie and Kimberlin will be heavily involved in a very intense storyline involving Bay City's matriarch, Sarah Garrett (Mary Beth Evans)," confirms the serial's creator, Gregori J. Martin. "We will get to see both women tap into that nutty side we so enjoyed seeing them play on ATWT, B&B and Y&R!"
