Relive The Story Of ATWT's Lily & Holden

SoapClassics has just released another in their line of DVD collections, this time compiling key moments in the epic love story of AS THE WORLD TURNS' Lily and Holden.

The set begins with the 1985 episode that saw hunky new stableboy Holden jumping out of the hayloft to encounter spoiled little rich girl Lily for the very first time. The ten episodes chronicle the ups and downs in their relationship including Holden nearly marrying Emily, Luke's birth, and the arrival of Lily's twin Rose, culminating in the 2006 episode where the pair renew their vows before family and friends.

For full details on each of the 10 episodes included in the 2 DVD set and for ordering information, click here. (And to watch a vintage Lily and Holden episode from the '80s, click here!)

Danny & Cricket Together Again!

Not only is Michael Damian (Danny) soon returning to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, but he'll be back on the screen with Lauralee Bell's Christine! TV Guide first reported that the two actors -- who played the soap supercouple in the '80s and '90s -- will be back in Genoa City for a major story development in May. According to TV Guide, Bell will first air on Thursday, May 17, with Damian arriving in town the following day as the soap revisits the hit-and-run accident in which crazy Phyllis tried to kill Christine. "It's official! I will be on in May doing some shows with Lauralee and Michelle [Stafford, Phyllis] and [Michael Graziadei's] Daniel," Damian tells Soaps In Depth. Rock On! Is Danny Returning To Y&R?

At this past weekend's Soap Opera Festival in Atlantic City, NJ, featuring THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS stars, attendees got a juicy piece of casting news during the Q&A: Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) revealed that Michael Damian is returning to the soap! The actor/singer/producer played the role of rock star Danny Romalotti from 1980-'98, and has made sporadic appearances ever since. His most recent return to Genoa City was in March 2008 for the Restless Style launch party, after which he took his son, Daniel, on the road with him to serve as the official photographer for his concert tour. Damian appeared again that November for the funeral of Danny's step-mother, Katherine. (Even though it was actually her doppleganger, Marge, who was dead.)

There's no official word yet from Y&R regarding Damian's return, but sources tell Soaps In Depth that the show had been trying to work out a deal with the star for a while now. Could they have finally succeeded?

Wagner Dishes On Last Night's DANCING... And B&B!

Last night's DANCING WITH THE STARS was the second week of competition for Jack Wagner (ex-Nick, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL; ex-Frisco, GENERAL HOSPITAL), and Soaps In Depth was there to watch him! "I think I over-danced a little this week," he shared with reporters on the press line following his performance with pro partner Anna Trebunskaya. "My kicks could have been sharper. When you've got someone like Anna to dance with you and you don't match it, it shows."

Trebunskaya felt her partner did just fine, even though judge Carrie Ann Inaba claimed that Wagner "over danced" his jive as well. "The one dance where you really should go full-out is the jive," Trebunskaya notes. "When you get a comment that you did too much... well, that's the one dance that you want to do too much on. I'd rather Jack do "too much" on the jive than not do enough."

Going all out on the jive did have a positive effect on Wagner's waistline, however! "They had to adjust my pants from [last] Tuesday... which is just fine! At 52 years old, I found an ab the other day in my stomach. I'm thrilled!" he joked.

The first DANCING elimination is tonight; next week, the remaining celebrities will share personal stories. "It's going to be a good one," Trebunskaya told In Depth. "It'll show a different side of Jack. I just keep praying we make it because next week will be pretty special."

As for where things stand with Wagner's soap career, the actor revealed to In Depth that there are currently no plans for him to return to B&B. "I'm prohibited from doing anything but dancing with [Anna] right now at all. Except maybe for going to the grocery store and feeding my kids!" And what about his rumored return to GH? "No Port Charles updates," he shared. "I'm actually under contract to ABC so if [GH] wants to call then they can call."

Meet Caroline 2.0!

After being cast to play the namesake of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL's beloved Caroline Spencer, daytime newcomer Linsey Godfrey didn't have far to look for guidance in her portrayal! First airing Wednesday, March 28, Godfrey plays the daughter of Karen Spencer, whose portrayer, Joanna Johnson, played the original Caroline. Johnson briefly returns to the canvas to help introduce her on-screen offspring, which gave Godfrey the opportunity to pepper her with questions. "I've picked Joanna's brain about what it was like when she played the original Caroline," says the actress, who's even impressed a few of her veteran co-stars with her in-depth knowledge of the show's history. "I'll be like, 'Remember this and this?' They'll say, 'Oh my gosh. How do you know that?' There's a Wikipedia page of the Forrester family tree, so I've been studying that thing. It gets confusing, but I'm slowly trying to figure everything out."

Look for a feature interview with Godfrey in the CBS issue of Soaps In Depth on sale Monday, April 9!

The couple has a one-year-old daughter, Maria; Michael is a member of the indie rock band Enation, along with Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky, GENERAL HOSPITAL).

"As most of you know, as much as I love to share with you the magic of ordinary days, I am also very private about my personal life. In fact, the only reason I'm saying anything about this at all is because you'll all be wondering soon why everyone is calling me "Bethany Joy Lenz" again. I'm sorry to say that Michael and I have decided to divorce. We remain friendly and dedicated to raising our beautiful girl in love and we appreciate your prayers and support during this difficult time."

ATWT's Abigail Is An Author!

s''net jimW (300).jpg

Fans of AS THE WORLD TURNS remember Kristina Sisco as Oakdale ingenue Abigail, but now going by her married name, Romero, the Emmy-nominated actress has dabbled in directing and recently completed her first novel!

"It does sound like I've been all over the map," she admits with a chuckle. "But for me, it's all the same, because I've always wanted to tell stories. When I went out to California after ATWT, I enrolled in USC and got my masters in writing. So it's always been a passion of mine."

Calling Extra is the story of 13-year-old immigrant Elsie Lutz who finds herself wrapped up in the infamous newsboy strike of 1899 after her father is arrested and she's left to fend for herself on the streets of Manhattan. "There were kids who lived in New York City who worked for a living and in such impoverished conditions," she explains. "They were doing all they could just to make pennies to get through the day."

The tenements of a turn-of-the-century Big Apple may seem a far cry from Oakdale, but Romero says she'd been working on her debut novel for years and was actually inspired by her love for the Disney movie (now-turned-Broadway-musical) Newsies!

"I always wanted to know more about the actual event of the newsboy strike," she says. "So for my undergrad, I did a little research and wrote a short story. At USC, my professor taught a historical fiction writing class, and I started to flesh it out and got a lot of positive response. So I spent the next few years doing more research and fleshing it out even more."

Romero laughs and adds: "I know way more about 1899 than one person probably needs to know!"

B&B Plans Italy Remote

THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL will head to Italy this May to shoot eight to ten episodes in the southern coastal region of Puglia, and in and around the Masseria San Domenico and Borgo Egnazia resorts. The episodes will shoot from May 7 through May 11, and air in late Spring. (Unfortunately for Italian viewers, they won't see the shows featuring their country until next Spring!) At least five cast members will travel to Puglia for the remote shoot, including Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and Ronn Moss (Ridge); additional actors will be announced at a later date.

"I am excited to feature another gorgeous Italian region on B&B," says executive producer and headwriter Bradley Bell. "Brooke, Ridge and our other characters will find out that even in the remote location of Puglia, you can't run away from the drama."

The Puglia remote will mark the fourth time that B&B has done a location shoot in Italy. They traveled to Lake Como in 1997, Venice in 1999 and Portofino in 2002. The soap also filmed episodes in Sydney, Australia, in 2007, in both Aspen, CO, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, last year, and returned to Aspen for a second remote shoot this month.

Interview: What's Up, Doc?

Hillary B. Smith (Nora, ONE LIFE TO LIVE, ex-Margo, AS THE WORLD TURNS) debuts Friday, March 9, on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL this week as Dr. Stacy Barton. She'll be helping one couple work through some intimacy problems, but if the actress had her druthers, she'd get to help the whole dysfunctional cast of characters! "Dr. Stacy is a therapist that specializes in relationships," Smith explains. "I'm hoping the whole town falls apart in some total sexual crisis, so that every single person needs to come to her [for counseling]! I think she should have the dirt on everybody!"

Having been a fixture on the cast of OLTL for almost two decades before its January cancellation, Smith had no qualms or nervous energy about trying a new soap on for size. "I've never done a Bell show," she explains, referring to B&B and its sister soap, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. "But I've certainly watched them both, from their inception. It's definitely a different feel and tempo [than I'm used to], but I've been a big fan for a long time."

Smith would encourage her loyal fans from OLTL to give the show a look-see, too! "Oh, absolutely. I put a message on my website to my fans, inviting them all to come and tune in!"

Pope For The Future?

THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL welcomes Phyllis Diller back to the fold on Thursday, March 8, and Friday, March 9, when she turns up to play her madcap alter ego, Gladys Pope. Now that the laugh-a-minute beautician is certified as a justice of the peace -- she'll help one couple tie the knot this time around -- her portrayer wouldn't mind many happy returns. "Now that I'm back in the flow and jiggling around like a young hussy, I'll be looking for more weddings on the show," jokes the 94-year-old comedienne.

A gal pal of Sally Spectra, Gladys hasn't appeared on the show since Sally's portrayer, Darlene Conley, passed away in 2007. But when Diller's own pal, B&B co-creator Lee Phillip Bell, suggested she make a comeback, the actress was game. "She was pretty important in getting me back to the role," says Diller. "And I just love doing it!"

When asked if Mrs. Bell has the same outrageous sense of humor as she does, Diller let loose with one of her famous laughs. "No!" she proclaimed. "She's too pretty!"
