All Hail These Queens!

QueensOfDramaGroup.jpg

Move over, housewives, there are some new ladies on the block... and they are here to show you how to bring the drama! In one of the smartest programming moves we've seen in ages, Pop (formerly the TV Guide Network) will air the pilot of their sudsy new reality show, QUEENS OF DRAMA, at 10 p.m. EST on Sunday, April 26th, directly after this year's live telecast of the Daytime Emmy Awards.

So is QUEENS worth sticking around for? Only if you want to see some of your favorite former daytimers butting heads as they attempt to create a whole new soap. Do parts feel wildly scripted? Without doubt. But where else are you going to see Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda, GENERAL HOSPITAL) give an epic eyeroll to Donna Mills (ex-Madeline, GH; Abby, KNOTS LANDING) before declaring she feels "completely insulted" and walking out of a meeting?

And that's before DYNASTY's Joan Collins (Alexis) has even made her first appearance.

In short, this is the reality show soap fans have been waiting for. Following Sunday's premiere, QUEENS — which also stars Crystal Hunt (Stacy, ONE LIFE TO LIVE; Lizzie, GUIDING LIGHT), Lindsay Hartley (Cara, ALL MY CHILDREN), Hunter Tylo (ex-Taylor, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) and Chrystee Pharris (Simone, PASSIONS — will air Wednesday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET beginning on April 29th.

EXCLUSIVE: Y&R's Morgan Is Expecting!

MishaelMorgan.jpg

Mishael Morgan (Hilary) tells Soaps In Depth exclusively that she and her husband are expecting their first child in August! "We were actually thinking about planning a family this year... and it happened a little earlier than we anticipated," she smiles. "But I'm the kind of person who wants things to happen when they're supposed to happen, and am open to it. So it was a happy blessing!"

At the moment, the actress doesn't know the sex of the baby. However, that will change in May when she flies home to Toronto for her baby shower, which she has combined with a baby reveal ceremony. "The only person that knows right now is my baker, who is baking me a cake," she shares with a laugh. "Inside it's going to tell me whether it's a girl or a boy, so when we cut the cake at the baby shower, we'll all find out together! I thought it would be a nice way to celebrate that moment when we are all together, because not everybody is going to be there when the baby is going to be born."

Morgan confesses that she and her husband would be thrilled if the inside of the cake turned out to be pink! "I do have a preference because I want my girl to be older than my son — so for that to happen, it has to be a girl!" she laughs. "When I was growing up, all the boys that I liked and was attracted to and who always treated women amazingly were the ones who had older sisters! So I wish my girl would be first, but it doesn't really matter. If I have a boy and he becomes an older brother to protect her, that's good, too! I'm just very excited!"

The actress' pregnancy will not be written into her storyline on Y&R, so look for Hilary's collection of oversized purses to expand in the near future!

Goss Hits Primetime With A BANG!

KelliGoss.jpg

Kelli Goss met an untimely end as THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS' Courtney, but fans can catch the actress guest-starring on tonight's episode of THE BIG BANG THEORY as Chelsea! "It was a nice buffer, and gave me something else to put my focus on rather than, 'Oh, I'm leaving!'" she says of the role. "And everyone there was super-nice. It was a really cool environment!

"Y&R really opened my eyes to the soap world," continues Goss. "Before that, I had the typical, 'Oh, I don't know if I want to do a soap.' Then I got there and it was so great! Seeing the actors that have been on there for such a long time, and how good they are, it was really cool. I've had people say, 'You could be picked up by another soap.' You never know [but] I am definitely open to that!"

The episode titled "The Communication Deterioration" airs Thursday, April 16, at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
